Media Center
Welcome to the Memorial Junior High School Media Center. The Media Center serves roughly 500 students in Grades 7 and 8 and houses over 8,000 library materials and resources. It offers books, online databases, Sora eBooks, CDs, and DVDs. The library has an extensive eBook collection through Sora and has partnered with the Cuyahoga County Public Library to provide additional digital books to students using their Sora login, regardless of whether the student holds a public library card.
Our goal is to enhance the educational experience by providing diverse resources that support the curriculum and foster a love of reading and lifelong learning. The Media Center also features a state-of-the-art Makerspace, which was dedicated in the 2018-19 school year. It includes 1 Cura and 4 Dremel 3D printers, an Epilogue Zing laser, a CNC router, a green screen video studio, a sound studio with GarageBand, a Roland vinyl cutter/poster printer, an embroidery machine, and a Lego table.
Additionally, there are Ozobots for learning coding, a MakeyMakey for exploring electrical circuits, and 3D pens for hands-on creativity. The Media Center is also a distribution point for the school’s 1:1 Chromebook initiative. Students report to the Media Center for Chromebook repair needs or loaners.
